Sherri Blackwell – grew up in the church, and joined the United Methodist Church approximately 35 years ago. She was raised in small-town, southwest Ohio, and attended United Theological Seminary, graduating with an M.Div. and an M.A. (in Caregiving/Pastoral Care and Counseling). She served as Seminary Intern at Central United Methodist Church in Springfield, Visitation Pastor for Central & Covenant United Methodist Churches in Springfield, and as Executive Director of the Open Hands Free Store in Springfield [a separate 501(C)3 created by a consortium of Springfield-area UMCs]. Sherri has also served as Pastor at Central UMC in Springfield (which merged to become Faith UMC-Springfield). She served Yellow Springs UMC, and currently, Concord (Urbana) UMC in Champaign County.
She has served on District and Conference Committees/Boards of Ministry. She is also a Licensed Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (a self-development tool that helps people objectively assess and advance their intercultural skill (competency), working with individuals and groups within the West Ohio Conference.
In her spare time, her loves to drink coffee, read a good book, and play with her fur-babies (Doober, Punkin, and Trey). Her brother, Brian, lives with her and rounds out the household.
